Godly Play, our beloved Christian Education curriculum for small children, is an integral part of the Spiritual Care program at Wolfson Children’s Hospital.
Christ Church parishioner Nancy Grogan is the Religious Educator and Godly Play storyteller at Wolfson Children’s Hospital. She uses Godly Play materials to tell stories at children’s bedsides – stories of hope, perseverance, and God’s loving care. Sadly, the pandemic has interrupted bedside storytelling, due to visitor limitations and the risk associated with bringing storytelling materials into multiple rooms. Here’s where we can help!
Christ Church families are invited to fund and assemble Godly Play storytelling kits which will be given to families at Wolfson to keep. After making a donation of $15 per kit, Christ Church families will pick up the materials at Christ Church, assemble a story at home, and return it to the church. Our team will deliver completed kits to Wolfson. Directions and everything needed for the kit are included, except a pair of good scissors.
With materials they can keep, children at Wolfson can continue to safely enjoy sacred and beloved Godly Play stories like Creation, The Parable of the Good Shepherd, and the Parable of the Mustard Seed.
After registering and making payment, Catherine Montgomery will reach out to families via email to make arrangements for material pickup.
