For children age five through rising 5th grade
July 26-30 (9:00 – Noon each day).
Adult volunteers are still needed. A complimentary “mini-VBS” will be provided by our nursery for the children of volunteers who are younger than five years old. Come serve with us – it’s a blast!
Safety precautions: Camper groups will be no larger than 25 children, in spaces that allow for adequate social distancing. Masks will be required for all participants when indoors. We will not gather all groups together for “assembly” as we’ve done in the past. A COVID screening form will be sent to all participants before VBS. Cancellations due to illness, quarantine, or suspected exposure will be refunded in full.
Love self. Love neighbor. Love God.
What is Love First Vacation Bible School?
“If it’s not about love, it’s not about God.”
Presiding Bishop Michael B. Curry
At Love First VBS, through Bible stories, games, crafts, music and worship, children discover that:
All people are lovable in the eyes of God, no exceptions (Love Self).
I am called to love and care for people in need (Love Neighbor).
I can see and feel God’s love in my life (Love God).
VBS is made possible by the service of youth and adult volunteers who either lead activities or shepherd a small group of campers. Our oldest campers (rising 5th grade) will spend one VBS day serving with one of our local outreach partners. Past 5th grade service days have included BEAM, Foster Closet, Habitat for Humanity, and K9’s for Warriors.
The VBS day is 9:00 a.m. – noon each day. Volunteers should plan to be with us from 8:30 – 12:30, and attend a volunteer training session (generally held on a weekday evening the week before VBS).
The camper registration fee is $50. No camper will be turned away due to an inability to pay. Please contact Catherine Montgomery for details. Scholarship requests are confidential.
