Community Ministry and Christ Church

One of the Seven Marks of Discipleship at Christ Church is Service. We do that in many ways, primarily by in-person work at places like BEAM and Mission House; and through financial grants our Outreach Committee awards every year. During this season of COVID-19, we are limited in what we can do in-person because we want all of our members to be safe and we do not want to add to the spread of this virus. You can serve our community in other important ways:

First, please give directly to the partners we support, especially these ministries on the frontline, providing food and medical services to the most vulnerable folks in our community. Right now, most need financial gifts rather than in-kind donations like food and supplies. It is safer and more efficient. They can take our financial gifts and buy in bulk from their suppliers at a lower cost.

BEAM  – has kept more than 230 beaches residents in their homes and is seeing increased demand due to unemployment. Their KEEP THEIR HOMES campaign has a goal of $50,000 to fund rent for 150 beaches residents by Friday, May 15. The first $20,000 donated will be matched dollar for dollar. LEARN MORE AND DONATE

Feeding Northeast Florida  Urgent needs include donations and volunteers.

Mission House currently limited to providing one meal per day. Please donate to them directly at the link or purchase needed items through their Amazon Wish List.

Sulzbacher  is in need of monetary donations as well as licensed medical volunteers to help with screening.

Second, know that Christ Church will continue to pay the grants we have awarded to these partners—roughly $250,000 to over a dozen ministries, as long as we can. Your giving to Christ Church helps us to do just that.

Thank you again for your generosity and your desire to help. If you have questions or concerns about your gift or would like to know more about how your gifts are used, please contact our Director of Development, Liz McCarthy lmccarthy@christepiscopalchurch.org
