9-12th Grade
June 12th – July 17th
Hometown Mission Week – Jacksonville, FL
Cost: $175

We are excited to offer interested high school students an opportunity to serve as volunteers during our hometown mission week. While we hope this experience is a fun way to participate in service over the summer, it will also be substantial work. Students who decide to participate in this program will be responsible for helping chaperones keep track of participants at work sites, lead discussions and devotions, and assist youth staff with executing the week-long program. Student volunteers will also be expected to follow our community covenant. We will offer volunteers 40 service hours for the week. Participation in the entire week is expected, but please reach out to Brooks if you need to make any adjustments.

Depending on the state of the coronavirus this summer, we may require a negative test before we begin, and we will be encouraging all participants to be vigilant in ensuring they are not exposed in the week leading up to our mission week.

Payment: Participants and families may either pay in full when registering or pay in two separate increments. If paying in separate installments, a $75 deposit will be required when registering, and then we will send a separate link for you to pay the second deposit, which will be due by April 15th. If the cost makes it prohibitive for your participants registering and attending our mission week, please inquire to Brooks Slater, Director of Youth Ministries, about need-based financial assistance for your family.

Refund Policy: Refunds will be considered only if (1) The participant’s spot is filled by another participant on the waitlist, (2) There is a medical illness precluding a participant from attending the event per a doctor’s recommendation (note required), (3) The participant tests positive for COVID-19 or is quarantined because of exposure to COVID-19 in accordance to CDC guidelines, or (4) A death of a family member or friend resulting in the participant attending memorial/funeral activities. Notwithstanding, Christ Episcopal Church will not refund any fees which cannot be retrieved from third-party vendors. If fees are incurred for the waitlisted participant (such as airline transfer fees), the canceling participant’s refund (if any) will be adjusted to cover those fees.

Questions?: If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Brooks Slater or Landon Leiker, Assistant Director of Youth and Family Ministries. We are excited to have you join us for this year’s Hometown Mission Week in Jacksonville!
