Children’s Christian Formation

We believe that fostering the spiritual development of our children is just as important as fostering their physical and mental development. In everything we do, we seek to honor their unique experience of God, and give them the tools they need to explore the possibilities of faith in their own lives.  Children’s Formation (Sunday School) classes meet on Sundays from 10:15-11:00, on the second floor of Blacker Hall.

Children as young as three years old before the start of the school year who are fully potty trained may begin Godly Play, while younger children (or those not yet ready for Sunday School) can attend the Nursery.

During the summer, children who will turn four before the end of August through rising 5th grade attend Sunday School together for a special series. Past sessions have included The Saints, The Gospel According to Dr. Seuss, and Building Faith Brick by Brick.

Children are welcome to join our activities at any time during the year. Have questions about any of our programs for kids? Please contact Catherine Montgomery, Director of Children’s Formation and Family Ministry.

Christ Church hosts a week of Vacation Bible School each summer for children age 4 through rising 5th grade.  Bible stories, games, crafts, and music, help curious kids learn more about faith and connect with one another.  This fun and inspiring week is made possible by the service of youth and adult volunteers.
