Choirs & Music Groups
The Chancel Choir is made up of high school through adult ages. Rehearsals are Wednesdays, 7 p.m. in the choir room. Under the direction of Rachel Root, this choir sings primarily for our 11:15 a.m. worship service, and for special events and concerts during the year. We sing a diverse repertoire, both accompanied and a cappella. We enjoy rehearsals, are dedicated to working hard to learn our music, but also reserve time for fun and fellowship. Several students from surrounding universities and high schools receive scholarships through the Mallory Fine Arts Fund to sing with our choir. In recognition of musical excellence, the chancel choir has been invited to sing this spring, 2018 at Carnegie Hall as part of the Kings Singers reunion under the baton of renowned composer and director Bob Chilcott.
