Since 1994, The Christ Episcopal Church Charitable Foundation has helped 89 young people with their college expenses. The Foundation has achieved this by awarding 57 four year tuition only scholarships, 8 partial tuition only scholarships and 30 educational grants to beaches-area students in need of financial assistance with their college education.
After a thorough application and review process, three scholarships and four educational grants were awarded in a ceremony held at Christ Church last week. Welcoming the students were our Rector, The Rev. Richard S. Westbury, Jr., Christ Church Charitable Foundation President Gabe Bove, and Foundation Scholarship Committee Chair Tem Fitch. The incoming group of scholars also heard about the challenges and rewards of college life from 2013 scholarship recipient Jenny Hymeri.
Congratulations to the 2017 recipients, and their families. We welcome you to our Christ Church family!

The Foundation holds several fundraisers each year to raise money to fund these scholarships, grants and other outreach projects: The Christmas House tour held in December, the Golf & Tennis Tournaments held in March at the Ponte Vedra Inn and Club, and a Shared Treasures estate sale. We are especially grateful to Loti Woods (who has established a scholarship in memory of her late husband, John Woods, a major advocate of education), Susie Buckey (who established a scholarship in memory of her mother, Jane P. Gurney) and the Parker/Woodruff Scholarship. The Foundation is honored to receive these gifts which make it possible to offer more students the chance to pursue their dream of attending college. Thanks to all who contributed their time, talent and treasure to ensure the success of this important program.
