BEAM needs volunteers to call seniors weekly and report back to the agency regarding their well-being and any particular needs. This initiative is called Telephone Reassurance, and volunteers are asked to commit to participate for a minimum of six months (preferably one year). In this way, volunteers develop relationships with the seniors they call, according to BEAM’s Senior Program Case Manager, Debbie Andalura.
