 Iconography Program
Wednesday, November 19 - Bishop H. William Tajra, Bishop of the order of St.Mary the Virgin, returns to Christ Episcopal Church on Wednesday, November 19 at 7 p.m. to reveal the possibilities of iconography - the writing of icons - as a way of building relationships between different denominations and faiths. The program will be presented in CFC 208.

Thanksgiving Events

Thanksgiving Eve Worship will be held November 26 at 7 p.m. in the church. Let's gather together to thank him for all his blessings.

This Thanksgiving Day you are invited to DayBreak for a morning of fellowship, games, and Thanksgiving dinner from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. The day begins with the celebration of the Eucharist at 10 a.m., followed by games at 11 a.m. and dinner at noon. Sign up to bring your family's favorite side dish. Sign up sheets will be in San Juan and San Pablo's narthex beginning November 2. You may also volunteer to heat a pre-cooked turkey that will be provided by the church. This is a wonderful celebration for every generation. Please contact the church office for more information. 

Second Annual Alternative Gift Fair
Our Alternative Gift Fair will be held in the Parish Center and on the San Pablo campus on Sunday, November 30 from 8:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. There will be tables representing two local organizations - the Beaches Medical Clinic and BrightStart. There will also be two international tables representing Heifer International and Amistad Mission. It is a great place to purchase Christmas gifts that keep on giving - let your dollar give twice. First to family and friends and at the same time to people that produce the fair trade items allowing them a living wage- these truly are gifts that keep on giving.  Advent Events

November 29 and 30 - After each service their is a chance to make your Advent Wreaths! Bring yourself, your friends or your family to prepare a wreath for your home. Christ Church will provide the wreath, candles, greens and a bow, as well as a booklet to help guide the lighting of candles as home worship.

December 7 - The Festival of Lessons and Carols is a worship service celebrating the birth of Jesus with the reading of lessons from the fall of humanity, the promise of Messiah, and the birth of Jesus told in short Bible readings, interspersed with the singing of Christmas carols and hymns. 5:30 p.m.

December 13 - Advent Retreat Welcomes The Rev. Margaret Guenther. 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. in the Parish Center. This spiritually-nurturing day embraces special opportunities for prayer and learning from one of the great spiritual directors of the Episcopal Church.

The MOMS are preparing an Advent Meditation book which will be available for daily meditation and prayer. Be sure to get a copy for your home. Materials will be available for all Saturday and Sunday services.
