Wednesday Bible Class
Parish Center, 1st floor, 10 a.m. -The Rev. Rick Westbury. Join this extremely popular weekly Bible class now in its 15th year. Study will begin with Acts of the Apostles, chapter 19.
Who is Our Neighbor? A Look at the Challenges of Jacksonville's Communities
Parish Center, 2nd floor, 7 p.m. - The Rev. Ann Broomell. Speakers from the community of Jacksonville will help us to identify the needs of our extended community and find ways to minister in meaningful ways. John Rood, Nat Glover, and others will join us for this exciting series.
Women in the World Bible Study
CFC 108, 7 p.m. - Betsy Crosby. This ongoing group will select a study of Scripture to help woman connect with God and with each other. Watch the bulletins, e-mails and brochures for further details.
Wednesday Night Book Club
CFC 203/205 - Mark Barrett and George Brown. This group specializes in reading and discussing books that challenge our theology, world views and our spiritual development. They explore ideas in the environment that balances reason, experience and authority...sharing in a way that builds community.
The Experience of God in Prayer
October 8 - November 19 - The Rev. Ann Broomell. One of the extraordinary gifts of Christian life is the many ways we can come to know and experience God in our lives. During this course, we will learn about, experience, and have an opportunity to practice many kinds of prayer that have been handed down through the ages, including praying with Holy Scripture, icons, nature and through our artistic creativity.

MOMS: A Personal Journey
CFC 202, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Patti Heilman. This eight-week, parish based peer ministry focuses on a variety of topics including self-esteem and self-acceptance, everyday spirituality, discernment of gifts and celebration of new beginnings. Each session begins and ends with a prayer ritual designed to enhance the Christian perspective on each of the topics. Pre-registration required. Pheilmann@comcast.net. Nursery provided. This class begins September 12.
MOMS: Conversation Peace: a book study
CFC 203/205, 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. - Patti Heilman. This women's study really hits home. Mary Kassian masterfully presents the biblical principals to help women revolutionize their speech habits and improve their relationships by focusing on ways to positively avoid sharing gossip, throwing negative barbs, or snapping sarcastic replies throughout everyday life. This class begins September 12.
