ChildrenChrist Church is building the future of the Church through its children's and youth ministries. Children learn about the faith, experience God's love, and are introduced to ministry through play, education and fellowship in a safe, nurturing Christian environment. Love to sing? Learn more about our children's choirs and choir school. Liturgical Dance Instruction in dance as a form of worship is offered in weekly classes for girls and boys age three and up. Dancers provide special offerings at worship services throughout the year and perform in the annual Christ Church Nutcracker ballet for the parish and the community. Youth Ushers Youth ushers greet worshipers with bulletins as they arrive at church, provide seating assistance, receive the offering and help worshipers as they come to Communion at the 9:00 and 11:15 a.m. services on the first Sunday of each month. Youth Acolytes Youth acolytes assist the priest at the altar and carry the cross or tapers during the procession Sundays at the 9:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services in the church and at the 11:15 a.m. Contemporary service in the Christian Family Center, Room 208. For information on becoming a youth acolyte, please contact Jack Parker, 543-9995. NurseryChrist Church Nursery provides a safe, clean environment in which your children can learn and grow. Our nursery offers love and physical care for infants to children aged four years old. We have a responsible and caring staff ready to engage your children in age-appropriate activities. Department of Children and Family Services (DCF) guidelines are followed to ensure the health and safety of all the children in our care. We follow a strict check in/check out policy and each parent must fill out a registration/information form before leaving a child for the first time in our nursery. All parents are provided with a beeper to wear during worship services so that we may contact you if needed. The Nursery is available for your children while you attend the following worship services and functions: Parents' Morning Out The Parents Morning Out (PMO) is a weekday program focused on meeting the needs of infants and young children. The PMO program is offered Monday through Thursday 8:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m. Our school year runs mid August through mid May. The program is intended for infants 6 months to children 2 1/2 years of age at the beginning of the PMO year. Stories, centers, music and expressive arts allow children a variety of learning experiences in a safe, spiritual environment. This fall our get-acquainted days are August 22 and August 23 with classes starting on August 27. We encourage you to stay with your child as long as you would like on the first day to help him/her adjust to the environment. Please note, with our open door policy that you are always welcome and we encourage parent involvement throughout the year. Our program is licensed by the Florida Department of Children and Families, License number 45179. The Christ Church After School Enrichment Program & Summer Camp We strive to enrich children's minds, bodies and spirits in a safe Christian environment in which to learn, play, discover, and grow! Activities offered (at no additional charge) include arts and crafts, cooking class, guitar lessons, Spanish classes, children's choir school, homework tutoring, computer lab, weekly chapel, Stretch & Grow, and field trips. Piano and dance lessons are also offered for a nominal fee. We care for children in kindergarten through fifth grade and offer transportation from The Bolles School, Ponte Vedra Palm Valley Elementary, Rawlings School, Ocean Palms Elementary, Jacksonville Beach Elementary, and Beaches Episcopal School.
