The Rev. Richard S. Westbury, Jr., Rector, was born and raised in North Florida. Now living in Ponte Vedra Beach, he and his wife, Carole, have two children, Richard and Katie. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida in 1981, a Master of Divinity from Seabury-Western Theological Seminary in Illinois, and was ordained to priesthood in 1989. From 1989 through1991, The Rev. Westbury served at St. Paul’s by-the-Sea, and became Rector of St. Paul’s Church in Jacksonville in 1992. The Rev. Westbury was called to Christ Episcopal Church as the Rector’s Associate in 2001 and has served as Rector since 2005. The Rev. Richard S. The Rev. Thomas P. Reeder, Senior Associate Rector, is a native of Fredericksburg, Virginia, where he spent nearly nine years on active duty in the U.S. Navy before discerning a call to ordained ministry. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) from the University of California at Davis and a Master of Divinity degree from the School of Theology at the University of the South in Sewanee, Tennessee. After being ordained in 2003, his first pastoral call was as Associate Rector and later as Priest-in-Charge of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, Florida. In September 2005, he was called to be the Priest-in-Charge of Christ Church in Williamsport, Pennsylvania. A year later he was installed as the 27th rector of that church. Tom and his wife of 20 years, Dee Ann, have two teenage children, Sophia and Liam. Tom will lead the Stewardship and Mission ministries of Christ Episcopal Church in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. The Rev. Caroline Kramer, Associate Rector for Spirituality and Evangelism, grew up in England and received her Bachelor of Theology from Oxford University in 1998. She has spent a large part of her ministry in the United States, including time as a supply priest for the Dioceses of Washington and Virginia, as an assistant priest at Grace Church in Alexandria, Virginia and as rector of Christ Church, Pearisburg, Virginia. The Rev. Remington Slone, Associate Rector of Formation and Worship, grew up in southeast Georgia and graduated from the University of Georgia with a Bachelor of Arts in History. Remington graduated cum laude from the General Theological Seminary in 2011, with a concentration in Biblical Studies. While in seminary he served at St. Mary the Virgin in Times Square as both a lay person and as a Deacon. After seminary, he returned to the Diocese of Georgia as the Assistant Rector of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Savannah, Georgia. The Rev. Amy Slater, Associate Rector for Family Life, is a lifelong resident of North Florida. She and her husband Tom have two adult children, Sarah and Austin. Her career has centered around faith, family and education. Since her ordination to the priesthood, Amy has served as the first Chaplain for the Episcopal Diocese of Florida at University of North Florida and as Assisting Priest at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, Jacksonville. In her efforts to lay the foundation for the Osprey Episcopalian ministry at UNF, Amy organized and led a coalition that won a $100,000 grant from the Lilly Foundation to fund the training of Christian leaders in the interfaith community for the Diocese of Florida. She also spearheaded the visioning for a new UNF Interfaith Center. Prior to joining the priesthood, she taught in public and private schools in Jacksonville. She has served on many boards, including a tenure as President of Episcopal Children Services. She holds a Masters of Divinity from Virginia Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida. The Rev. Wendy Billingslea, chaplain for Christ Episcopal Church, grew up in New Jersey, and graduated from Wells College in upstate New York with a major in Theatre and English. She graduated from Seminary of the Southwest in Austin, Texas and was ordained a priest in 1997. She served as Associate Rector of St. Thomas Episcopal Parish in Miami, Florida, and as Rector of St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church in Greensboro, North Carolina. In 2009, she came to Christ Church as an Associate Rector, working at the San Pablo campus. When her first grandchild was born, she realized she was ready to leave full-time ministry, so she is thrilled to be assisting part-time in the areas of pastoral care, visitation, and formation at Christ Church. The Rev. Deacon Marsha Evans Holmes is a native of Baltimore, Maryland. She earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics with honors from Morgan State University. Marsha held a variety of positions at Verizon Communications, including Vice President – Payphone and Operator Services and Vice President Consumer Marketing. After a 27-year career, she retired to Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. She is currently the Pastoral Care Associate at Christ Episcopal Church, Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida where she is responsible for the management of volunteer lay ministries and Singles Ministry. She has served on a number of Boards including the Board of Directors of the Morgan State University Foundation, the Board of Trustees of Mary Baldwin College and the New York City YWCA. After moving to northeast Florida, she served on the boards of the Jacksonville Public Library Foundation and Jacksonville Florida Urban League.
